FAQ’s

  • How much is room hire?

    For standard event timings, room hire is £150 with bar staff included.

  • What time is the room available?

    Room hire is from 7pm until midnight (bar closes at 11.30pm). You can have access to the room from 5pm on the day of your event to bring food and/or decorate if you wish. Access to the building is from 5pm for any outside caterers, entertainment etc.

  • Can I book a DJ?

    You can book one of our experienced DJs for an additional £150 (DJ finishes at 11.30pm). Alternatively, you can play your own music through our high-tech PA system.

  • Can I provide my own entertainment?

    Yes, however if you are using an external DJ or are thinking of hiring a band/ singer, they will not be allowed to use any of our sound or lighting equipment. They will need to provide a PAT test certificate and liability insurance.

  • What is the capacity of the room?

    The function room can accommodate 200 people.

  • Are there seating areas?

    We have ample seating space for 140 guests in the main room and for approximately 20 guests in the bar lounge area.

  • Can I bring food?

    You are allowed to bring your own food or use an outside caterer. We have large buffet tables you can use; however, we do not supply any table cloths or covers. You must provide these if you want to cover the tables. Any left over food has to be disposed of at the end of the night.

  • Can I decorate the room?

    Yes you can, however we do not allow confetti (including confetti balloons and confetti canons) party poppers or glitter. Decorations must be put up with Blu tac on the tiled walls only, nothing can be put up on painted or wooden walls. (Sellotape or drawing pins cannot be used). Decorations must be taken away at the end of the night. We have no facilities to store anything overnight. Flame lit candles cannot be used (battery tea lights only).

  • Do you allow children at functions?

    Under 18s are allowed to attend private functions, supervised by a responsible adult, until 10.30pm. Children must stay inside the venue and cannot be unattended on the stairway or corridors.

  • Can I come and view the function room beforehand?

    You can come and view the space prior to booking if you wish, you just need to arrange a suitable time with our events team.

  • Do you have wheelchair access?

    Due to the nature of the building, unfortunately there is no disabled access to the function room.

  • Can I get access to Ku after my party?

    If your event lands on a weekend and you are looking to carry on the party at Ku, we can supply 4 free entries to the party host. Names of the 4 guests must be given prior to the event date. Age restrictions and dress code apply; management reserve all rights.

    If anyone else is wanting entry, we suggest they go to the box office at Ku when it opens to avoid any queues.
